A namesserver provides name resolution service as a part the Domain Name System. It is a critical component of the Internet and is responsible for determining the correct location on the network for any host name.
DNS uses a network of name servers which share the workload of name resolution. This system is designed to handle large amounts of data quickly and efficiently.
In a name server distributed system, each nameserver has a list of IP addresses and host names for these names. These databases contain information that is configured with directives, resource records and zone files.
When a user queries a recursive host for a name, it will ask one or more authoritative names servers. These authoritative nameservers return a reply to the server recursive, which then caches the information closer to client for future requests. A recursive service then returns the response to the user. They can use this information to further query the host.
Authoritative name servers contain resource records that map host names to IP addresses. These are primary nameservers in each zone.
The root name servers can also be called top level or root name servers. These servers act as the main hub for the Internet domain name system. They are maintained by a variety of organizations all over the world.
There are four different types of name servers. These include master, slave and caching-only. Each type is different and can perform different tasks.
The masters store the authoritative and original zone records of a namespace. They also respond to queries from other name servers for the namespace.
Slaves get their zone information from a master. This is done through a process called zone transfer.
Caching only serves as a nameserver secondary, but does NOT act as the authority for any zone. It stores results of all resolutions for names and returns them after a time period that is determined by retrieved zone records.
A dynamic update is a method that allows you to add, change, or delete entries in your zone files with the use of a command. The dynamic update option is configured individually for each zone entry by adding an allow-update or update-policy rule.

What is responsive web design?
Responsive Web Design (RWD), is an approach to designing responsive websites. Content will display correctly on all devices, such as smartphones, tablets, laptops, tablets, and desktop computers. This allows users to view a website on one device simultaneously but still access other features such as navigation menus, buttons, etc. The goal of RWD is to ensure that when a user views a site on any screen size, they view the exact version of the site.
You would, for example, want to make sure that a customer can view your website even on a mobile device.
A responsive site will adapt to the device used to view it. It will appear the same as a regular desktop website if you view it on your laptop. However, if you're viewing the page on your phone, it will display differently.
This means you can make a website that looks amazing on all types of devices.
